Weaver Hits 3,000 Career Yards in Playoff Win

This week’s Rend Lake Cabins In The Woods Player of the Week is senior running back Jace Weaver for the Johnston City Indians.

Weaver hit a huge milestone Friday night, surpassing 3,000 career rushing yards in the first round playoff win over Wesclin 38-25. Johnston City moves on to the 2A second round where they’ll face Maroa-Forsyth, a rematch from last year’s 2A semifinals that Maroa-Forsyth won 40-22 at Johnston City.

In the win over Wesclin, Weaver ran for 123 yards on 18 carries and one touchdown, bringing his season total to 1,221 rushing yards.
