Spencer surpasses 1,000 yards as Benton stays unbeaten

This week’s Rend Lake Cabins In The Woods Player of the Week is senior running back Riley Spencer from Benton.

Spencer helped lead the Rangers past the Pinckneyville Panthers in a dominant 56-7 win. With the win, Benton completed a clean sweep in the SIRR Mississippi, capturing their first outright conference championship in the division since switching from the Ohio in the 2023-24 season.

Spencer finished with 157 rushing yards, 40 receiving yards, and two rushing touchdowns. He also eclipsed 1,000 rushing yards on the season and now sits just 47 yards away from 2,000 career rushing yards.

Spencer and the Rangers will look to finish off a perfect 9-0 season this week as they host the Harrisburg Bulldogs (3-5) for Senior Night.
