The Fairfield Mules put together the longest win streak in Black Diamond Conference history. Their 37-game run began on October 14, 2016, with a 24-8 win over the Sesser-Valier/Waltonville Red Devils. The streak ended in Week 3 of the 2021 season, on September 10, at Johnston City, where the Indians pulled out a 28-26 victory in a highly anticipated matchup.
The two teams did not play each other during the shortened 2020 season, when both finished 6-0. During Fairfield’s streak, the Mules outscored opponents 1,420-231, averaging 38 points per game while allowing just 6.2 points per game. That stretch included several shutout wins.
Currently, the longest active win streak in the Black Diamond belongs to Johnston City at 12 games. How long will it last? Fairfield is also on a 6-game conference win streak and has opened the 2025 season 2-0. The Mules face Eldorado this Friday. Will their streak continue?
