This week’s Rend Lake Cabins In The Woods Player of the Week goes to Carbondale junior quarterback Davin Wooley.
Wooley had a monster performance in the Terriers’ 52-14 road win over Herrin, breaking the school record for passing yards in a game with 426 yards. He completed 13 of 17 passes for six touchdowns, leading Carbondale to back-to-back wins and putting them back in the playoff picture.
On the season, Wooley has now thrown for 1,556 yards, 15 touchdowns, and only five interceptions, showcasing one of the top passing resumes in Southern Illinois.
We also have to recognize his teammates in the win. Senior Braylon Berry finished with 218 receiving yards on four catches and four touchdowns, while Javion Oliver added 192 yards on eight receptions with two scores.
The Terriers improve to 3-4 and will look to keep their playoff hopes alive as they return home to face Marion this week, before wrapping up the regular season in Week 9 against Mascoutah.
